Who owns The Optical Centre?

So who owns The Optical Centre?  My name is Darren Jones. My wife and I have five children. One girl (11) and four boys (8,6,4,1).  They are young and awesome and yes I am terrified for when we have 4 teenage boys all at once.  I am an optometrist and have spent the last 10 years building an optometry office from scratch. In 2018 I saw a post that a stylish boutique optical was for sale.  I drove to Longmont with my wife and we saw The Optical Centre for the first time. I was impressed by the styles of frames that were available. I love the artwork from the local community. We walked up and down main street and noted all locally owned shops and restaurants.  There was just a strong sense of community and belonging that we loved. We were convinced that this was a place we wanted to be a part of.

A few months later we took the plunge and purchased The Optical Centre.  Slowly over the last year we have been making some small improvements here and there.  The number of frame options have increased with some new independent brands.  We just released new user friendly website that allow for making your own appointments online or by text! There have been some upgrades to equipment in the doctor’s office as well.  More of those will be coming soon and we can’t wait to let you know about them. Most importantly we have been able to find an amazing Doctor and staff to work with you.

Over the next weeks and months we will be updating this blog with introductions to Dr Whitmire, Daisy and the rest of the staff here at the Optical Centre.  They will be contributing articles about eye health and eyewear as well. We will also be sharing with you some of our favorite things we have found in downtown Longmont as my family and I have been discovering your awesome city.

We have enjoyed being a part of the local Longmont community and look forward to many years of serving the wonderful people in this area.
